Nascar Race Cars For Sale : Nascar Cup Racing

The Nascar Nextel Cup is this series highest level of competition. It is also the most watched and profitable Nascar racing event. The 06 Nextel Cup was made up of 36 races spread over 10 months, awarding over four million dollars prize money for each race. Fans often use call the Nextel Cup Series simply Cup. The Chase for the Nextel Cup, a new championship points system, was initiated and in 07 Nascar explained it was expanding the system from the former ten to now twelve drivers and eliminating the 400 point cutoff. A ten-point bonus is awarded to the top twelve drivers for every race they win of the first 26. In 08 the infamous series name will change to the Sprint Cup Series due to the Sprint Nextel merger.

The Nascar Busch Series is the second level of competition. Race cars look similar to Cup cars with only minor changes. Weight and length of the car, engines power output and rear spoiler size are some of the differences. The Busch Series is the only one of the top three events that races outside the US. The season does not have as many races as the Nascar Nextel Cup nor does it award as much prize money. Busch-whackers are drivers that attempt to race in both series, warming up for the Cup in Busch Races.

The Nascar Craftsman Truck Series is a event just for pickup trucks. It is the third of the Nascar national divisions The series was originally called the Nascar SuperTruck Series but changed it name in 96 to Nascar Craftsman Truck Series to highlight Craftsman sponsorship. The series had a rough and ridiculed start being considered a hobby for older or Nascar drivers who did not make the Cup or Busch cut. The popularity steadily grew though and has became a very popular sport producing some great drivers that have went on the race the Nextel Cup.
